Investigating rocks

“Geologists have a saying—rocks remember.” —Neil Armstrong

At Sparsh Global School, we nurture our students’ curiosity while fostering respect for the natural world and each other. Our little ‘geologists’ from grade -1 participated in an investigation activity describing the properties of different rocks such as shape, color, hard, soft, heavy, and light. They gathered around the rocks with a magnifying glass and reviewed their characteristics. This hands-on activity was conducted to foster awareness about earth science. They were able to identify and sort the rocks into different groups based on their properties.

The activity facilitated an opportunity for students to be inspired and know their local ecosystem.
