Grade 1 Activity: Lights & Shadows, Unit: 4 The Big Sky

Today, the Grade 1 classroom turned into a world of light and shadows as students embarked on a hands-on adventure to explore how shadows are formed! With flashlights and curious minds ready, they eagerly experimented with different objects, projecting shadows onto the walls like real-life magicians.

Students watched in awe as their toys, hands, and books transformed into larger-than-life shadow shapes. They discovered that moving an object closer to the light made its shadow grow bigger, while moving it farther away made the shadow shrink.

The excitement didn’t stop there—students had a blast creating shadow animals like bunnies and birds using just their hands! This fun-filled activity deepened their understanding of light and shadows and sparked creativity and imagination. It was a day of learning through play, where every shadow told a story!
