Science Class Activity- What Does Sugar Do To Teeth?

“Behind every smile there’s teeth”- Confucius”

Grade 1 students participated in an activity demonstrating the effects of sugar on teeth using eggshells, which resemble tooth enamel. The teacher placed one eggshell in plain water and the other in a sugary cold drink.

The eggshell in the sugary drink became discolored and weakened, showing the impact of sugar on teeth. The lesson concluded with a discussion on the importance of brushing, eating healthy foods, and limiting sugary snacks and drinks for better oral health.
