“There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.”- John Green
World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October every year, with the objective of raising awareness about mental health issues and mobilizing efforts in support of better mental health.
Sparsh Global School observed World Mental Health Day through various activities planned at each level.
In grades1 to 3, World Mental Health Day was observed by sensitizing the students about positive thinking. They picked up positive affirmations for themselves and wrote them beautifully on the cloud cutouts like “I love myself, It’s okay to make mistakes, My choices matter, I am proud of myself” etc. Grades 4 & 5 made posters and wrote meaningful quotes on mental health.
In grades 6 to 8 an art therapy session was conducted with the students wherein they were asked to make their imprints and to write “the things they want to let go and the things they want to keep”.
The students celebrated this day with great enthusiasm by performing mindfulness activities. They learned how simple mindfulness practice can help them learn to calm their bodies and minds and set a positive tone for the day ahead.
